The other half of the episode is made up of Akira entering the city of Toshima.

I’m sure there’s more of a reason to the dog tags thing but the episode didn’t go into much depth about them. The game of Igra revolves around dog tags that are carried by it’s participants, you get more dog tags by killing other players who also have dog tags. In exchange for his freedom, he must participate in Igra, and kill it’s number one fighter, II-re. Here comes the typical anime setup.Īkira is then visited by some strange red haired lady who offers him an opportunity to regain his freedom, But it’s not exactly a simple offer (Big Surprise, right?). That would obviously make for a shitty anime if that was all, no? Of course it would. Our main character is a tall blonde pretty boy named Akira, who’s framed for a crime he did not commit and sentenced to jail for life. We’re basically introduced to the setting of a now crooked and corrupt land of Toshima (Was Tokyo) which is used as a arena for a violent fighting game called Igra. The first half of the episode was pretty slow, and nothing much stood out.

Let’s get this review started then, shall we? Based on it’s Japanese yaoi anime game Togainu No Chi’s anime debut wasn’t on the top of my list this season for many reasons, but after the somewhat interesting 1st episode, I might reconsider.
